Installation

Brian - I would suggest that you consider renaming the Server version – this will always, as far as I know, need to be downloaded and might reduce any confusion over whether they need to choose client or server – they only need to chose 32 bit or 64. If you choose not to, I can change the section below.

To begin you need to determine which version you need to download based on your Operating System, either 32 bit or 64 bit. Once you have the software downloaded to the computer you want to act as the main repository of your data you need to install it. Extract the zip file and click on the setup.exe file which will open the My Movies Setup wizard.

SCREEN SHOT 1

The first screen will warn you that the program is protected my copyright. If you agree, click “Next”. Brian, the first screen warns that the program is protected by copyright but should probably ask if the person installing it agrees to abide by its terms. I hadn’t thought to do screen captures so will need to get this one

The next screen will provide you with the opportunity to make a donation to ensure future development and support of My Movies. Check or uncheck the donate box as desired and click next. Will need to get a screen capture of this one too.

The next screen will allow you to select the folder to install My Movies in and if desired check the available storage on your disk(s). After selection the folder, click “Next”. There is probably a better term than “Disk Cost” as coming after the page asking for a donation it could cause confusion – maybe “Disk Usage” or something.

SCREEN SHOT 2

The following screen will let you confirm you want to install My Movies, click “Next” and My Movies will begin installing.

SCREEN SHOT 3

Once the installation is finished you will get an “Installation Complete” screen. Click “Close”. Congratulation you have just installed My Movies!

SCREEN SHOT 4

You may need to download the client application if you have more than one computer that will be accessing the database, again based on the Operating System of the computer you will be installing it on.
