Introduction

After having built your movie collection with many titles, your database becomes quite an asset. To ensure that you do not loose all the work you have put into your collection, it is recommended to backup your database on a regular basis, either manually from the Collection Management program, or automatic via. a scheduled task.

Automated Backup

The backup process can be automated by running My Movies with specific command line parameters:

[InstallDir]\My Movies.exe -backup -"[FileName]"

Example:

"C:\Program Files\MCE\My Movies.exe" -backup "C:\My Movies\Database Backup.mmb"

To ensure that the database is based up on a regular basis, it is recommended to create a scheduled task to do so every once in a while - for instance once a week. The "Task Scheduler" can be found in Windows' Control Panel in the Administrative Tools group.
