Collection Management - File Menu

The items on the File Menu are mainly used for database selection & maintenance, server selection, and data importing & exporting.

Database Selection & Maintenance

• New Database ¹ - creates a new 2.4x database
• Backup Database ² - backs up an existing 2.4x database including all cover and actor photo images
• Restore Database ^{1, 2} - restores an existing 2.4x database from a backup made with Backup Database
• Open Prior Database ¹ - opens and converts a pre-2.4x database (Access .mdb file) to the 2.4x format (SQL Server)

Server Selection

• Connect To Server - used to select the My Movies database server for this client ³

Data Importing & Exporting

• Import
  • DVD Profiler XML - imports data from the XML file generated with DVD Profiler
  • DVD Profiler XML (3.x) - imports data from a DVD Profiler v3.x database
  • Folder Content - imports titles found in selected folder, if title is found in WebService, data is automatically downloaded
• Export
  • XML File - exports data from My Movies database to an XML file

Exit Application

• Exit - closes the Collection Management application
